step 1:

perform the following commands without quotes:

> “sudo -s”

supply the password when the above command prompt for it.

step 3:

executing the below command will uninstall the iphone SDK 2.2.1.

> “/Developer/Library/uninstall-developer-folder”

remember the above command is case-sensitive.

Indie’s like Steve Demeter, developer of the popular iPhone game Trism, earned $250,000 in 2 months, and Ethan Nicholas, developer of the popular iphone game iShoot who earned $800,000 in 5 months. The iPhone game development become a huge hit and it’s made independent developers to become multimillionaires in just a year.

iPhone made his foot print on mobile market comes with unique features like multi-touch, accelerometer, proximity sensor and a rich application environment. As i said on the beginning, when Steve job introduced the iPhone, he said it’s a three different product packed in one single device. But in 2009, without any re-engineering, being as it is, iPhone transformed himself to four different product packed into one single device available in the market. Now it becomes a Phone, an iPOD, an Internet communication device and now a Gaming console.

VLC Player is the popular open source video player software among a lot of computer users.  Recently HP laptop users facing a inbuilt speaker problem, which is often getting malfunction across the users. The official HP service center executives advicing the laptop users to stop using the VLC player to watch, play media files. They reporting that playing a media files using VLC Player causing the damage to the built in speakers.

As an additional information the official HP service center executives informing the customers bring the laptop to service for the build in speaker problem that , “the laptop will not cover under warranty if its identical that the diagonse report finds the user used the VLC player.”

first download and install the windows based softphone called xlite from http://www.counterpath.com/

download and install the following package if it does not exist in your linux box. the asterisk installation will fail if any of the following packages does not exist in the machine.

Packages:

gcc
cpp
glibc-headers
glibc-devel
glibc-kernheaders
gcc-c++
libstdc++-devel
libtermcap-devel

Hope you have all the packages mentioned above.

lets start.
go to the linux machine. create a directory as your choice. here am creating under /usr/local/

command:
mkdir /usr/local/asterisk

go to the newly created directory

command:
cd /usr/local/asterisk/

then am downloading the asterisk package from www.asterisk.org

command:
wget http://downloads.digium.com/pub/asterisk/releases/asterisk-1.4.22.tar.gz

once the download completed , unpack the package.

command:
tar -xvzf ./asterisk-1.4.22.tar.gz

note: in the above command the file name is the name of the file which we downloaded before.

once the unpack completed, the package is unpacked into the directory /usr/local/asterisk/ as a folder named asterisk-1.4.22. that is /usr/local/asterisk/asterisk-1.4.22/

now you need to jump into the newly created directory.

command:
cd asterisk-1.4.22

the final step is to compile the package.

commands:

make clean
./configure
make
make install
make samples
make progdocs

note: above listed are six different commands and it needs to be executed one by one.

now almost done. the package is successfully installed. hopefully

now, to make the basic asterisk to run, we need to edit the two configuration files located in /etc/asterisk/

the file names are (with full absolute path)

/etc/asterisk/sip.conf
/etc/asterisk/extensions.conf

first we are going to edit the sip.conf file.

command:
vi /etc/asterisk/sip.conf

go to the bottom of the file and paste the following configuration. this configuration actually creating the sip user accounts. the first line [thiyagu] is the user name. here i used my name thiyagu as the username.

the third line which is secret=thi123 is the place where you need to key in your desired password. here i used the password thi123. am creating two users in the name of thiyagu and jack

canreinvite=no

[jack]
type=friend
secret=jack123
qualify=yes
nat=no
host=dynamic

the sip.conf is now completed. the next one is extensions.conf. the file is under /etc/asterisk/
here we are going to create the extension numbers for each users which we created before.
am assigning the extension number 100 for user thiyagu and 1o1 for jack

command:
vi /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf

go to the bottom of the file and paste the following config.

[internal]
include => outbound
exten => 100,1,Dial(SIP/thiyagu,20,tr)
exten => 101,1,Dial(SIP/jack,20,tr)

thats it . you are done.

now run the asterisk executable

command:
/usr/sbin/asterisk -vvvvc

it should run without any errors. Configure the username we created under sip.conf in xlite softphone in two different machines and call each other.

The “Elevated mode” error pops up twice and and shuts down the program completely when pressing the “close” button. Disabling the “User Access Control” will help you to run the program successfully without any errors.

Follow the blow steps to make the changes.

step 1:

Go to the control panel and open User Accounts.

Step 2:

Click on the “Turn User Access Control on or off” (highlighted in red on the above image)

Step 3:

After step 2, you will get the following window on your screen.

uncheck the check box saying “Use User Access Control (UAC) to help protect your computer” and press “OK”.

Step 4:

After step 3 the system will ask you to reboot your computer.

Reboot the computer the computer and start the Nuance Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

Scenario 1:

You need to send a email from the linux command prompt with the log file attached.

The log file name is myprogram.log and located in /var/log/myprogram.log

The log need to be send to someone@mycompany.com

Make sure your linux box having the “uuencode” tool installed. Also you need a “Mail Transport Agent”. in this example am using “mail” (like mutt,mailx)

Step 1:

Am creating a file automail.sh

Command:

vi automail.sh

Step 2:

Am adding the following script to the newly opened file

#!/bin/bash

MYFILE=/var/log/myprogram.log

(echo “Please find the attached log”; uuencode $MYFILE myprogram.log;) | mail -s “My Program log” someone@mycompany.com

(above script highlighted in red is a full single line)

Step 3:

Save the file and exit from vi editor

Step 4:

Change the permission of the file to executable

Command:

chmod 700 ./automail.sh (assuming the file in current directory and the login use is root)

That’s it. This script will send the log file attached in the email with subject “My Program log” and the body of the message “Please find the attached log”

Scenario 2:

You need to send a log file emailed to your boss every day from the linux command prompt.

The log file name is not same every day. The log file name stored in the following format myprogram_2008_03_28.log, next day myprogram_2008_03_29.log and so

on.

In this example, we are sending the log in the same day when it generated.

Let’s start,

Step 1:

Am creating a file automail-random.sh

Command:

vi automail-random.sh

Step 2:

Am adding the following script to the newly opened file

NDATE=$(date +%Y-%m-%d)

MYFILE=/var/log/myprogram_$NDATE.log

Step 3:

Wait a minute.

What happen if the file does not exist? No NUKE. The program simply fails to execute.

To avoid this, add the “if” condition to the program and validating the file can overcome the trouble.
